Tidy Tim began as a Certified Konmari Consultant, and the principals of Konmari can still be found in his work today.

The KonMari Method™ is a system of self-reflection created by Marie Kondo that uses the act of “tidying” as a window into the life you truly want to be living. It is a process that allows you to consider every possession, deciding what will support you in your life going forward.

It is estimated that the average person owns 20 000 things. One explanation for why the KonMari Method™ works so well is that you are able to hone your intuition after making 20 000 gut-based decisions, which allows you to follow your instinct and make clearer decisions in life.

You will create a clear & open home, learn how to take better care of your belongings, and learn a lot about your own values in the process.  It’s “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up”.

What to Expect

Tidying by category

Rather than tidying room-by-room, my recommendation is to go instead by categories of items.  For example, working through all your clothing in one session, all your books the next.  This ensures you are able to more fully transform your space rather than moving things around the house.

We will work together to declutter your home over the course of multiple sessions, focusing on different categories of items each time.

The number of sessions needed will differ for each client.  The size of the home, and your willingness to do small projects in-between sessions will affect timelines.

Your First Session: I recommend Clothing

During your first session, I recommend we tackle your clothes and closet.

The best way to prepare for this session is to:

  • Gather clothes from your car, the office, the gym, and that unpacked box in the basement.
  • Do a load of laundry (no need to fold them.)
  • Wear an outfit that Sparks Joy and will be comfortable to work in.

This session will take between 4 – 6 hours, depending on the amount of clothes you have.  If you’d prefer to start with a different area or category, just let me know.

The following Sessions

All other sessions are between 4 – 5 hours, depending on progress and the lesson content we are able to cover.

I will guide you & support you to tidy your entire home by focusing category-by-category rather than room-by-room.  I’ll include a full checklist so that you are able to tackle some smaller categories in between sessions, and provide a ton of support and motivation along the way.
